EP (Exceptional Parent) Magazine, America’s oldest (32 years of continuous publishing) and most widely distributed publication serving families of special needs children and adults, combined forces with the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox and created the first Disability Awareness Nights. A pre-game ceremony was held at home plate to raise awareness of 54 million Americans who have a disability or special health care need and the efforts being made by physicians, researchers, teachers, caregivers and concerned corporate citizens to improve their lives. In 2003 nine Major League Baseball teams have agreed to Schedule Disability Awareness Night™. This creates opportunities for companies to partner with EP Magazine and Major League Baseball in support of this deserving community.
