Welcome Back Rays
By Anonymous St. Petersburg, FL July 15, 2004 -– Major League Baseball’s All-Star break is over. Corporate sponsor, American Collegiate Financial Services (ACFS) is eager to see the Tampa Bay Devil Rays back in action. The returning series features a division match-up against the Baltimore Orioles at Tropicana Field in Saint Petersburg.
“We are excited to support our home team,” said Janel Landis of ACFS. “We wish the Rays continued success throughout the remainder of the season. As an official sponsor, it has delighted us to see the Rays become the hottest team in baseball and attendance numbers soar.”
Founders of ACFS purchased 500 tickets to the June 25 game against the Florida Marlins. These tickets were distributed to children through the Boys and Girls Club and the R’Club of St. Petersburg.
“My fondest memories from my childhood are of my father taking me to baseball games. I think all children should have this experience,” said Bruce Record an ACFS founding partner. “It was rewarding to send all of those kids to the game, we plan on doing it again.”
