Canton Mariners Star in Brockton Rox “Field Of Dreams”. Humboldt Storage and Moving Takes Little Leaguers to the Big League.

BROCKTON AND CANTON, MA AUGUST 14, 2003 -- Baseball season came to a thrilling end for the Canton Mariners team. The Little League team participated in this year’s Brockton Rox “Field of Dreams” game, thanks to their team sponsor, Humboldt Storage and Moving of Canton, MA.

After a barbeque at Humboldt Storage and Moving’s New Boston Drive headquarters, Humboldt sponsors, Mariners and their families headed over to the Brockton Rox “Field of Dreams” game held at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton, MA on June 17th.

The 12 Little Leaguers, ages 10-12 years old, starred in the opening ceremony of the Rox game. Each Mariner player was formally announced alongside a Rox team member and walked out onto the field together to stand for the National Anthem.

Following the game, the Mariner players had an opportunity to clock their pitching speed on the Brockton Rox radar machine. Then they were presented with game baseballs and obtained autographs from Rox players.

“This is the first year we sponsored a little league team and we found it really brings you closer to the game. We all caught ‘baseball fever’ and many of us at Humboldt enjoyed going to the Mariner’s games and cheering them on. Our CEO Howard Goldman was invited to throw the first pitch at the Canton Little League All Star game. We brought hotdogs, chips and sodas for the team and fans to enjoy. At the end of the season, we wanted to do something really special for them, so we purchased tickets for the Mariners to participate in the Rox ‘Field of Dreams’ game,” noted D’Arcy Goldman, President of Humboldt Storage and Moving.

Goldman continued, “The Mariners are a terrific team and it was a wonderful season. We’re looking forward to sponsoring little league again next year. We all had a really great time.”
